SAVAVET successfully organized a Continuous Veterinary Education program on Small Animal Orthopedics on May 19, 2024. The event was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and featured two insightful sessions led by renowned veterinary experts.

The morning session was conducted by Dr. S. Ayyappan, a former Professor and Head of the Department of Veterinary Surgery & Radiology at Madras Veterinary College, and currently a Senior Consultant Veterinarian at Besant Memorial Animal Hospital. Dr. Ayyappan presented on “Osteoarthritis in Canines – A Clinical Perspective,” providing valuable insights into the diagnosis, management, and treatment options for osteoarthritis in dogs.

In the afternoon, Dr. Vikram Dave, Founder-Director and Head Surgeon at Blue7Vets Hospitals in Mumbai, led an in-depth session on “Hip Dysplasia in Details and Its Treatment with Surgical Alternatives.” Dr. Dave’s presentation covered the complexities of hip dysplasia in small animals and explored various surgical treatment options, emphasizing practical approaches for effective management.

The program was well-received, with participants praising the comprehensive coverage of topics and the expertise of the speakers. This event marked a significant contribution to the continuing education of veterinarians, enhancing their skills and knowledge in small animal orthopedics.
