SAVAVET is dedicated to enhancing veterinarians’ knowledge and skills. On May 26, 2024, SAVAVET hosted a Continuous Veterinary Education (CVE) program on Small Animal Orthopedics at the Radisson Blu in Guwahati, Assam. The program featured two expert-led sessions, offering attendees valuable insights and advanced knowledge in veterinary orthopedics.

The first session was conducted by Dr. Milind Hatekar, Founder of Pet Aid Small Animal Veterinary Clinic in Pune. Dr. Hatekar’s presentation focused on “Radiological Positioning, Findings, and Treatment of Osteoarthritis.” He discussed the critical role of radiological imaging in diagnosing osteoarthritis, detailing the proper positioning techniques and interpretation of radiographic findings. Dr. Hatekar also shared advanced treatment protocols to manage this common orthopedic condition effectively.

Dr. Kunal Dev Sharma, Managing Veterinary Surgeon at Max Vets in New Delhi, followed with an in-depth lecture on “Hip Dysplasia in Details and Its Treatment with Surgical Alternatives.” Dr. Sharma covered the pathophysiology of hip dysplasia, diagnostic approaches, and various surgical treatments. His session provided practical insights into managing this challenging condition, emphasizing the latest surgical techniques and post-operative care.
